Ron is a 1969 Graduate of Kane Area High School. He serve three years in the United States Army as a medical equipment repairman including one year in Vietnam, where his love of photography developed. Ron served as president of the Professional Photographers Association of Pennsylvania in 1994. Also a past president of the Southwestern Association of Professional Photographers and a National Councilor to the Professional Photographers of America for eight years and was awarded the coveted National Award for service to photography from that organization. In 1997 he earned the PPA Craftsman Degree in recognition of his service through lecturing and mentoring fellow photographers at seminars in PA, Ohio, New York, West Virginia, and Connecticut. Many of Ron's prints have received PPA's merit awards culminating in his receiving the prestigious "Master of Photography Degree" in 2000. Mr. Peterson is the only photographer in the region to attain the Masters Degree and the Certified Professional Photographer under PPA's certification program.
A 1973 graduate of Johnsonburg Area High School, Maryanne has been working in photography with her husband, Ron since 1974. She has been active in many photographic associations, including the Professional Photographers Association of PA and the Profession Photographers of America which awarded her the coveted PPA National Award for her dedication to the photographic community. In 1997 she earned the PPA Craftsman Degree in recognition of her service through lecturing and mentoring fellow photographers at seminars in PA, Ohio, New York, West Virginia, and Connecticut.
